Hey Weirdo!

I am Aldene Nicole

Head weirdo here at Aldene Nicole Photography and I am so glad you are here.

In each photo session I attempt to do the impossible, to translate your light onto a square of paper for you to hold and behold your luminance.

I seek to capture a true expression, to glimpse just for a moment the radiance you be, distilled into a light painting we call a photograph.

Sounds fancy and philosophical but my photography is all about big emotions and personal stories. I do love to get a bit over the top romantic with my art because I spend my days with three tiny humans who love telling endless fart jokes.

It’s nice to get gushy in the feels and use my fancy (somewhat useless) philosophy college credits from time to time.

Random things about me you should know:

At my house saying Weirdo is the same as saying I love you, I see you and you are safe with me.

I am a sentimental Sagittarius and will 100% cry if you do.

No matter your age I might still refer to the bathroom as the potty, I do try not to.

My humor tends to be dry sarcastic and on the dark side but my friends tell me I am disgustingly optimistic.

If you see me in public yelling “Goblins!” You are about to meet my herd of children.

I love sending snail mail, especially to my clients.

For you fellow personality test nerds I am a:

INFP Mediator, Enneagram Type 2, Life Path 9, Manifesting Generator, Introvert, Empath, Sagittarius with a Cancer Moon and Leo Rising. Like I said, a Romantic Weirdo.

Are you ready to create beautiful photographs?

Hi, are you a nice human?

This is my happy place, a web portal of love, compassion and badasserie. No hate speech is welcome here (insert mental picture of Gandalf vs Balrog) internet trolls, you shall not pass.

I believe black lives matter, trans women are “real women”, that your size is never equal to your worth and that LGBTQ+ family’s needs more love and support.

If you agree, then you my friend, sound like a Romantic Weirdo my favorite kind of people.

SCROLL DOWN UNTIL YOU SEE FLOWERS TO SKIP THE HARD STUFF.

***TRIGGER WARNING***

Yes I know this is weird on an about me Photographers page but it’s relevant I promise.

Just Be Yourself…

Sounds like the easiest thing in the world and if we are lucky it was once or is now.

Just be yourself is easy to say when you fit into societies polite boxes or can hide your weird away.

It is infinitely easier to be yourself when you are not socially outcast, dehumanized or murdered for just being yourself.

I am not a therapist or self help guru and I don’t have many answers.

Before you ask Yes I am actually Okay and yes I have gone to many, many, many years of therapy.

These are the dark things that I normally would want to hide from you. These things have shaped my life and have in the past kept me from really connecting to others fully because I was terrified you would look at me with pity and treat me differently.

I am not a cool weirdo who rides motorcycles or the Goth weirdo with bad ass tattoos or the boho hippy weirdo with the felt brimmed hats and peacock chairs.

I am the unbroken weirdo who was forced to look into all the darkest places and still wants to be a unicorn, mermaid or at least be the kindest most authentic version of myself so I can break the cycle of trauma and self hate for my kids. I am sexual assault survivor, a domestic violence survivor, PTSD warrior, worst nightmares ever haver.

I have been made fun of for having a dragon horde amount of books, for keeping my childhood stuffies, for decorating my desk with unicorns and other childhood tokens I am “supposed to” be ashamed of but I love. I understand that optimists can be super annoying but in most ways my childhood was denied to me so I am extra sentimental about the parts that remained intact.

Claiming my head weirdo title was not easy or painless but it helps me have hard conversations I was once too scared to have.

What title will you claim or reclaim for yourself?

Are you ready to celebrate your weird?

Why Yes, I am a dork and I do have a typo in this video….

Sorry if that’s a big pet peeve for you and I do hope you can still enjoy my personality if not my creative spelling and grammar.

I am for you if you have a loud laugh, a romantic heart, a cheerfully dark sense of humor and love emotion-driven images.

You are in the perfect place to embrace what makes you wonderfully weird.

More Personal info for your internet enjoyment

1. No one has ever really called me by my first name; Aldene.

Everyone calls me by my middle name; Nicole…Except my mom she calls me AL. Moms are weird okay.

Other weird Nick Names: Nickle, Cole, Colie, Collie-fish, Headshot (funny because Video games and photography)

2. I am a feminist who was super happy to change her last name!

Tiffany is a horrible last name because everyone thinks you don’t understand the question what’s your LAST name….

Them, “What is your last name?”

Me, My last Name is Tiffany.”

Them, “No….No I said Your LAST Name!”

Me, “Tiffany… is my last name.”

*sigh, maybe if you were of the jewelry Tiffany’s then it’s worth it?*

3. I can be embarrassingly competitive.

I once won a pie eating contest using only my face as a spoon. All the other competitors were men and one of them was bragging so much...

Fight the patriarchy with baked goods? Umm…Hell yes! Hold my hair.

*I got all the glory that day but now I still hate banana cream pie*
