Fall Family Session at Deschutes Falls Park

Try Deschutes Falls Park there’s just something magical about photographing families here in the fall. Running through the leaf strewn paths and sipping travel mugs of hot cocoa to keep your fingers warm. Deschutes Falls Park is the perfect backdrop for these quintessential PNW fall family portraits. This location has large grassy areas, easy forest trails, big logs for posing and an abundance of colorful freshly fallen leaves. Perfect for family leaf fights, handheld walks and snuggling on a blanket with your loves.

Location Details: Deschutes Falls Park 25005 Bald Hill Rd SE, Yelm, WA 98597

A family friendly 155-acre park featuring easy to walk forest trails and a 27 foot waterfall that flows into the Deschutes River. Free parking, Portable Bathroom, Leashed dogs welcomed at the park. The trails get muddy and slippery in the spring and fall. Click Here to learn more about the local history of the park.

Level of Difficulty: Easy

Cost: Free parking and entry, No Discover Pass required.

Hours: Park is open Daily from 7AM-8PM.

Parking: Gravel lot and additional overflow parking along the street.

Bathrooms: The property is relatively primitive but has a portable toilet.

Kids: Fun and easy forest walking trails, no play equipment.

Dogs: Leashed dogs welcomed at the park. Remember to pack out any trash and dog scat.

Tips: Bring boots in the rainy seasons the gravel trails can get slippery and muddy.
